As the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin boasts numerous
venues to catch a great show and check out the local talent. In
addition, the renowned Austin City Limits Music Festival annually draws crowds
of all ages to Zilker
Park for its three-day fest featuring central Texas favorites and international
headliners.

want to miss the highly acclaimed South
by Southwest Music, Film and Interactive Festivals. Solidifying Austin's place on the
culture map, SXSW showcases more than 1,800 of the newest and best musical
talent on the globe. For film lovers, the Austin Film Festival highlights the city's burgeoning
film industry.

Outdoor Recreation
For outdoor enthusiasts Austin offers trails, climbs and lakes
galore. Lady Bird Lake
(named after the former First Lady - learn more about her at the Wildflower Center) is
surrounded by miles of hike and bike trails. With prime water-front views in the
heart of central Austin,

Built along the lower Colorado River, Austin benefits from several man-made
lakes - Lake
Austin, Lady Bird Lake and Lake Travis
providing plenty of opportunities for waterskiing, kayaking, sailing and
fishing. For swimming, the cool waters of Barton Springs natural pool and Deep Eddy prove to be beloved favorites.
The Capital City
As the Texas
state capital, Austin's
skyline is hallmarked by the pink-granite Capitol building. To learn more
